TIMP2 分子靶点综述

组织金属蛋白酶抑制因子2 (TIMP2)基因是TIMP基因家族的成员之一。在TIMP家族的四个已知成员中，TIMP-2既具有所有TIMP的共同特征，又具有其自身的独特特征。由该基因家族编码的蛋白质是基质金属蛋白酶(MMP)的天然抑制剂，基质金属蛋白酶是一组参与细胞外基质降解的肽酶。TIMP2既作为MMP抑制剂又起到活化剂的作用。TIMP-1比TIMP-2更好地抑制MMP-7、MMP-9、MMP-1和MMP-3的活性，而TIMP-2则比其他TIMP更有效地抑制MMP-2的活性。在黑色素细胞中，TIMP2基因的表达可能受MITF的调控。最近研究发现，TIMP2在海马功能和认知功能中起着重要的作用。
