CD123即为人类白介素-3受体的α-亚基（IL-3Rα），是一种I型跨膜糖蛋白，细胞因子受体超家族的成员之一，和CD131（人类白介素-3受体的β-亚基）组成异二聚体，形成了白介素-3受体，α-亚基产生细胞因子特异性而β-亚基产生信号转导功能。在单核细胞，中性粒细胞，嗜碱性粒细胞，嗜酸性粒细胞，巨核细胞，红细胞前体，肥大细胞，巨噬细胞和部分B细胞亚群细胞中表达，并介导这些细胞的增殖和分化，与急性髓性白血病的FLT3-ITD和(或)NPM1突变相关。
