骨形态发生蛋白2(BMP-2)属于TGF-β超家族蛋白。和其他的骨形态发生蛋白一样,BMP-2在骨和软骨的发育中起重要作用。BMP-2参与Hedgehog通路、TGF-β信号通路和细胞因子及其受体之间的相互作用,还参与心肌细胞分化和上皮细胞向间充质细胞转化。BMP-2和BMP-7都是骨诱导性的骨形态发生蛋白,实验表明他们可有效诱导许多细胞类型中成骨细胞的分化。在可吸收胶原海绵上使用双锥形螺纹融合器和重组人BMP-2可维持椎间脊柱的融合、提高临床疗效、减少患有退行性腰椎间盘疾病患者在前路腰椎椎间融合术后的疼痛。
